Hey runners listen up because YOU NEED YOGA!
And yes, yoga is worth it.
If you’re a runner and if you run often, your body is tight, sore or and you might be dealing with “old” injuries, it’s time to give it something it needs…Yoga.
This is not a replacement FOR running, this is supplemental programming that will go a long way to saving your body from wear and tear.
Yoga has been around for centuries. And it’s not just for the ladies. It’s also not just for stretching and becoming more flexible. Yoga can help make you strong in ways you didn’t realize. Yoga will help make you better at BREATHING, yes, that autonomic thing we all do but take for granted.
Try doing Beginner’s Yoga Routine to IMPROVE Running performed and created by Coach Zach. Listen close as he instructs Coach Brian through this practice.
Unraveling these areas can take time but if you learn and practice some simple movements like the yoga poses Zach shows you in this video, over time you can undue some of the damage and/or tightness that you’re currently dealing with.
NOTE – the key to all of these poses is the breath. If you don’t breathe deeply into your belly using your nostrils to help slow your breathing down, your results will not be as noticeable.
The breath is KEY to all poses and postures in yoga and ultimately KEY to all sports performance. Focusing on your breath will always lead to a calming / relaxing effect allowing your body to get into better positions.
The team here at CriticalBench have been doing these movements for several weeks now and it’s paying off big time. Keep doing your weight training, keep running but add in some Yoga too, your body will thank you for it….Namaste!
This YOGA for Runners flow should only take you 8-10 minutes but the benefits are HUGE, especially if you do this yoga routine a few times a week.
