This yoga warmup energizes your body muscles and joints for the following set of rigorous exercises. In addition, doing a few warmup yoga poses gets your body ready to flex and move without getting injured. In fact, you can even do the yoga warmup exercises at home at the end of the day to relax and relieve tension!
STEPS TO THE WARMUP YOGA POSES
For the prep pose, we’ll start with standing on the mat. Lift your right leg, holding onto the ankle.
Pull your ankle towards your buttock, your knee pointing towards the ground. Push the foot into the palm to activate the muscles in the leg.
Allow the knee to stay pointed towards the ground and not move away. Stay here for a few breathes and release.
Repeat on the other side. Hold onto the ankles, bring the shoulders together, elbows together and release.
