21.06.2018 it’s International Yoga Day! Here’s a short sequence focussing on shoulder strength and mobility. Ideal for string players, but all musicians can benefit from starting the day by getting in touch with the breath, calming the mind and energising the body with a good stretch.

I do recommend that you watch this video through once before participating.

I have included full pose names (Sanskrit and English) so you can research them elsewhere if you would like more information or different instruction, as it is hard to explain everything in a short sequence.

Remember: Yoga is about self-care. If you experience discomfort or have a previous injury, respect it and work around it. If sharp or strong pain occurs, back off and rest. Yoga is not a competitive sport. Do not battle with your own ego. Accept the possibilities open to you today. Have fun.

This video is open-ended so you can enjoy as long in savasana (corpse pose) as you like. Set an alarm if you need to be somewhere!
