This video is for educational purposes only. If you have CPTSD, known panic attacks, or are extremely sensitive to stimulation, it is highly recommended you seek out a professional to guide you in this work.
The psoas muscle is known as the “muscle to the soul” and it is the muscle that stores tension and trauma from the Sympathetic Nervous System’s fight or flight response. Over time the stored tension in this muscle can cause hip, back, knee and even neck and shoulder pain. It is also connected to stored emotions of fear, doubt, depression and anxiety.
This practice is a set of exercises that slowly fatigues the psoas muscle to induce an autonomic response of quivering and shaking to release the long held tension/trauma stored in the psoas. This shaking and quivering starts in the psoas but can travel anywhere in the body. Eventually releasing the tension and cleansing the nervous system creating a calming effect.
Because each person holds tension/trauma differently the results are very individual. Trust that your body has it’s own intelligence and knows exactly what it needs to heal. Please seek the help of a professional if you feel you need support.
