For the most part we will hold some intense deep stretch postures in this yoga class, but there is some “posture to posture” movement between longer holds. This class is a wonderful opportunity to not just gain flexibility while holding postures, but also to work with the breath during these deep yoga stretches. This class begins with Ujjayi Pranayama and includes a flow of standing splits, crescent moon, extended pyramid, etc. The first section of class includes stretches for the hips like fire log, butterfly, malasana and diamond. Enjoy stretches for the backs of the legs like seated forward fold and stretches for the quads like twisted lizard. Inner thigh stretches include upward angle, seated straddle splits and tortoise. Mermaid pose and splits are included in this yoga class before reclined twists and savasana. Enjoy! Let me know what you think in the comments!
