YOGA POSTURE BASICS
In this Yoga Video I, Marianne give you instructions on how to do the Yin Yoga pose: Dragon Pose also known as Low Lunge. A good pose to create space around the hips. It is Hip-Stretch-Time!

YOGA BENEFITS
Physical benefits*:
This Yoga pose allows you to:
+ stretch the thigh- and hip muscles of the back leg (quadriceps and hip flexors)
+ create compression in your lower back if case you keep your torso up and this is good for increasing bone density and for the curve of your spine
+ flex the front ankle, which creates compression in the ankle and it makes the bones stronger
+ extend the back of the front ankle, which creates a stretch
+ stretch the back ankle in case you stretch the foot back
+ flex the back ankle and stretch the sole of your foot in case you have the toes down on the ground

ALTERNATIVE POSES
Alternative poses can be:
+ Low lunge, but with the elbows on the knees.
+ Low lunge, but with the hands down on the floor.
+ Low lunge, but with the hands down on the floor and the front foot and knee falling to the side so that you can lower your hips closer to the floor.
