In this video, I demonstrate how to do the Tree Pose or Vrikshasana. A close replica of the graceful and steady stance of the tree, the pose derives its name from the Sanskrit word ‘Vriksha’ meaning tree. Unlike most other poses, this pose requires you to keep your eyes open, look straight at a distant object and hold your gaze to help you maintain your balance.
This asana is a balancing posture which helps to improve balance and enhances the nervous system. This asana will also help you to strengthen the joints and bones, expand the hips and chest and loosens the shoulders and tone the arms.
