Created as a four part series, these short “mobisodes” are part of a behavior change program to end open defecation in India.

This mobisode is based on the lead characters of a famous Bollywood movie. Two brothers return to the family fold after 20 years and hope to reunite with their old, widowed mother. Has their old mother changed her habits or is she still stuck in the days of yore?

Perceived affordability: Toilets are considered to be very expensive, affecting the ability for individuals who practice open defecation to build a toilet. However, many of these households may already own items that cost just as much as a toilet, such as a mobile phone, TV, or a second-hand motorcycle. Generally, people are unaware of a range of affordable toilet options, which could be a possible explanation for why many households who own a fully-constructed (pucca) house still do not have a toilet.
