YOGA POSTURE BASICS
In this Yoga Video I, Marianne give you instructions on how to do the Yin Yoga pose: Neck Exercises. We will move the neck in 6-8 directions. Give your neck muscles some relief!

Physical benefits*:
This Yoga pose allows you to:
+ ease a tense neck
+ create ease of movement
+ stretch the muscles in the neck (cervical spine)
+ stretch the muscles in the upper back
MOVEMENTS NECK
NB: never make circles with the neck. The vertebra in the neck are only meant to move into the following directions:
1. Flexion (chin to chest)
2. Extension (chin up to the sky/ceiling)
3. Lateral Flexion (right) (right ear to right shoulder)
4. Lateral Flexion (left) (left ear to left shoulder)
5. Rotation (right) around the axis ((right ear to the right)
6. Rotation (left) around the axis ((left ear to the left)
7. Higher Cervical Flexion (NB: this one I didn’t show you in the video)
8. Higher Cervical Extension (NB: this one I didn’t show you in the video)
