Welcome to your power yoga class to build physical strength on your mat (and off your mat too).

Today’s class is a short sequence that packs a punch.

You can expect to awaken your posterior chain (hello hamstrings and back muscles), fire up your core strength, move with your breath through sun salutations, cultivate determination through standing postures, play in a moment of recess, open your chest center, and end with some core power.

And oh yes, we take a moment to meditate at the end too…. how could I forget.

But before we dive in, there’s one more thing.

I recently shared how hard my personal yoga practice has become, and by hard I mean – nonexistent. And while filming this class for you, it became clear through the shaking, heavy breathing, and quite honestly, doubting that I could even make it through – what I need to do.

I need to prioritize movement and self-care, or else, everything else falls apart.

Now there’s an important distinction that deserves being mentioned here.

We often times confuse self-care with things that include relaxation, because truth bomb, our culture does need a major dose of relaxation, But I once heard from a wise woman that self-care is actually self-work.

I’ll never forget that line, it struck a deep chord within me…. because here I am, trying to practice self-care through modalities that only foster relaxation, when the reality is – I NEED TO GET TO WORK.

So to bring this conversation back home and central to your world, I ask you, what does self-care mean to you? and what work do you need to do?

Keep this thought top of mind as you step on the mat today, really let it take up space within your body, within your mind, and within your soul.

And hey, maybe your answer will sound a lot like mine….

Girlllll, you need to get your ass back on the yoga mat, tap back into your strength, and recreate the habit that transformed your journey.

Ready to get to work with me?

I’ll meet you on your mat,

Allie, xoxo
