This 30 minute sequence is for pregnant women at all stages of a healthy pregnancy. Some benefits of pregnancy yoga include:
-increased strength and flexibility
-reduced stress
-back pain relief
-sciatica relief
-improved sleep
-reduced headaches and nausea
We will gently wake up the body in a seated position, doing some neck stretches, side stretches and open twists. Then we’ll move onto all-fours to gently wake up the spine. After that, we’ll find ourselves in some standing poses to strengthen the legs and increase balance. Finally we’ll take it to the ground for some leg and hip stretches before we move into relaxation yoga poses.
For props, it’s great if you have a blanket, a pillow and a block (optional) nearby.
Please check with your doctor to make sure that prenatal yoga is right for you. And be mindful of the body and breath, taking a break whenever you need one.
Roll out the mat. It’s time to start feeling better.
