Talasana means Palm Tree pose. Other names for Talasanas are Vrikshasana or Tadasana. While doing this Asanas our body looks like palm tree. Besides the spine, the entire part of the body will be in vertical stretching. If we don’t stretch our body after sitting continuously for 12 Hours, all our internal part will be unable to function properly. Therefore nature makes us to yawn. It is said every 4 hours we should stretch so that the internal organs get proper activation and stimulation.

Method : –
1. Stand Erect, with feet 12 inches distance apart and parallel with toes pointing outward, hands placed by the sides.
2. Spine Erect , chest forward, head held straight up and abdomen under control.
3. Focus on an object at eye level, so that the balanced is maintained.
4. Slowly taking the breath in simultaneously raise the heel and hands together .
5. Bring the hand up closer to your ears and finger pointed upward to the sky.
6. Stand on your toes, feel the maximum stretch in the entire body, hold the position and breath for 30 seconds.
7. While exhaling, rotate the hand behind, slowly and gradually concentrating on the breathing brings hands and heels down to that starting position.

1. Talasana helps to increase our neuro – muscular co-ordination, abdominal immunity, improves lung capacity, develops respiratory muscles and aids blood circulation.
2. Remedy for flat foot.

Avoid :
1. Avoid raising heels if obese, and during pregnancy as there is danger of losing balance, but the body needs stretching badly.
