Today’s mandala power yoga flow is inspired by a recent Tripsichore training I did with Edward Clark. It’s a very fluid practice with a focus on the hamstrings and lots of inversions!
Tripsichore Yoga is a true vinyasa flow class. Every move is connected to the breath, and you never pause or stop moving. With every inhale and exhale you have a continuous movement that flows from the origin (or root) of the spine to the tips of the fingers and toes. And there is an incredible focus on growing from your mulhadara chakra, root or origin and not blocking the flow of energy in any way. Good news is that today’s practice is only inspired by (you will see in the intro) so we will pause and hold poses at times. 🙂
Mandala yoga is a great way to aid meditation, and when we practice a Mandala Vinyasa Flow sequence, we make a circle or travel 360 degrees around the mat through a four part sequence. The sequencing may have a single focus, such as opening the hips, or combine multiple areas of focus.
Today’s practice will focus on grounding and stretching our hamstrings/legs. And we will do plenty of inversions… feel free to pick an inversion of your choice.
This practice it’s great to loosen up the low back and legs, build strength and lose weight. It’s also a great practice to do if you’re feeling worried or stressed as it taps into our root chakra, Muladhara.
So grab your mat, and get ready to awaken and heat up your body with this grounding practice!
