What is Sciatica?
The sciatic nerve is the largest single nerve in the body and is composed of individual nerve roots. The nerve starts at the lumbar region of the spine (L3) and runs down through buttocks of both legs. It also branches out in each leg on specific parts like thighs, calves & toes.
When does the pain occur?
To put it simply, the pain occurs when the sciatica gets compressed in the lumbar between the spine or gets irritated due to various reasons. Another common cause of sciatica pain is slipped disc.
Symptoms
The pain is usually on one side of your lower body. The early stages is felt in the lower back and buttocks, especially when you are sitting down. If left unnoticed, the pain shoots down to your thighs till your toes, making it difficult to even walk around.
This video explains clearly what you can do to gently remove the pain from your lower body. Start with basic postures. Be consistent and slowly move into levels so you eradicate the pain from your system and successfully release the nerve pinch.
