Here are some variations that you can use in place of traditional bird dog pose as well as downward dog.

Calf stretch from table pose is a great yoga pose for increasing circulation, decreasing leg cramps and restless leg syndrome symptoms and for getting into the leg muscles like you would in downward dog pose.

For some yoga students, downward dog is cautioned or contraindicated (especially during pregnancy). This pose, along with puppy pose will give you the same benefits.
