A specialist yoga teacher Lolly Stirk has spent the past 35 developing her own unique style of yoga for pregnancy, labour, birth and beyond. Her work has been influenced by many extraordinary yoga teachers including Vanda Scaravelli with whom she studied for many years and her husband John Stirk who continues to inspire her work. She draws on her experience as a mother, birth educator, hypnobirther and from the hundreds of births she has attended as a doula. As a founder member of the Active Birth Movement in 1982 she campaigned for women’s rights to give birth freely. She was the Director of Yoga Studies for the Active Birth Teachers Training Course from 1982 — 1997 with co-directors Janet Balaskas and Yvonne Moore and for many years she taught the Active Birth Module to midwives at Thames Valley University.

In 2000 Lolly co-founded YogaBirth an independent group of birth educators and specialist yoga teachers and continues to train teachers in this valuable work.

Lolly continues to teach Hypnobirthing and Pregnancy and Postnatal yoga in Notting hill, West London and you can find her at www.lollystirk.com
