Straight arm strength is a completely different type of strength compared to bent arm strength, developing straight arm strength takes time as straight arm exercises puts a lot more stress on your tendons, joints, muscles and ligaments.
But the benefits of straight arm strength are extremely high, especially if you want to excel in calisthenics or gymnastics.
In addition, straight arm strength is also very good for upper body posture because it trains all the muscles in your shoulders and neck that are neglected and detrained when you spend long periods seated or desk bound.
In this video Rad and Richard take you through our beginner straight arm strength Foundations Strength Program. This is a brilliant beginner calisthenics workout and beginner strength workout.
