Yin Yoga full 50-minute class.
My 30-Day Yoga Challenge gift to you is a deeply relaxing 50-minute yin yoga class. Short yoga routines are lovely to practice everyday to continue the wonderful benefits of yoga in your daily life, but if you have time, indulge yourself in a deeper practice with this gentle sequence to stretch out tension and stress.
Yin yoga is slow and deep, so remember to practice with warm clothing on and socks if you need them. Yin yoga is unlike other styles of yoga as you can hold each yoga pose between 1-8 minutes, depending on your level. It is important to find a comfortable stretch you can hold the pose for the duration of the time without causing any discomfort. It teaches us to learn our limits and respect them without allowing the ego to push deeper. It also teaches us patience, as the longer we are in the pose the body will soften with time and regular practice, rather than focusing the body to go deeper.
Props give you support, so use as many as you need. Remember the idea is to stay in the pose for longer than a normal practice so I would always recommend starting with props and then you can always remove them when you settle in to the pose. Listen to your body – only you can feel the stretch so only you know how deeply you can go.
